Protector No. 3: Immigrants

from 15.00

No. 3 of the ongoing Protector Series: I will be selling prints and original drawings of Protectors to raise funds for organizations or causes.

The Protector of Immigrants, also know as the Wall Destroyer, has teeth made of diamonds, a lava tongue, six strong, clawed limbs, and a powerful, scaly tail. The Wall Destroyer is capable of eating its way through brick, stone, glass, and metal. It generally spends its time in a burrow near the earth's core, but will tunnel its way to the surface if angered. This protector is especially angered by the meaningless, harmful divisions that humans try to impose on the world. If provoked (for instance, by the construction of a gigantic wall built due to the false, hateful scapegoating of certain human beings, at the expense of a society that desperately needs funding for actual important things), it will emerge and create as many holes in that wall as it can. Throughout human history it has participated in the destruction of parts of Hadrian's Wall, the Great Hedge of India, and the Berlin Wall. The Wall Destroyer has much more to contend with in modern times—half of all border barriers built after World War II were built between 2000 and 2014. It is rumored that it is currently focusing on the Israeli West Bank Barrier, and the Mexico-United States barrier. The Wall Destroyer has a special fondness for immigrants because it too is an immigrant—it came here from a world that was destroyed by divisions, fear, and hatred.

Profits will go to Border Angels, which "advocates for human rights, humane immigration reform, and social justice with a special focus on issues related to the US-Mexican border," as well as providing community education and migrant outreach programs.

The original drawing ($125) is matted and framed in an 8 x 10" frame. Archival prints ($15) are 8.5 x 11", printed on premium Legion Somerset paper.
